At what stage should I speak to a solicitor?
As soon as you have decided to sell is the ideal time to contact your solicitor. Your initial consultation with one of our solicitors is free. We will outline the procedure for selling your house in Scotland and describe the services that we provide. You will also benefit from our knowledge of the current local property situation and how that might affect your pricing and closing-date strategy.  Whether we do your estate agency or conveyancing or both, you will get a letter of engagement that sets out what you can expect from us and what it will cost.

Can I afford to sell?
Before putting your house on the market you should find out from your Lender how much is required to pay off your existing loan. You should budget for Estate Agency fees, Advertising Costs, Solicitors Conveyancing fees and VAT. You may possibly have outlays for a Local Authority Clearance Letter, the costs of registering Discharge of Security and also Search Fees.
